Tanja Maier

Tanja is a Public Affairs Officer in GÉANT’s EU Liaison Team. As part of her role, she wrestles with EU legislation and helps the team in providing long-term navigation to GÉANT’s governance and the NRENs. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between policy and practice, “translating” and dissecting what happens in the European institutions.

Tanja holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Leiden University, The Netherlands, and a bachelor’s in Teaching English, History, and Political Education. After roles in the European Commission and the Austrian public sector, where she experienced international negotiations at first hand, her work at GÉANT focuses on the intersection between policy, technology, and education.
