We welcome both institutional (NREN) and individual contributions. Please follow the appropriate guidance as detailed in this web page.

- What is the purpose of this initiative?
This initiative enables financial contributions to URAN via the Vietsch Foundation. This provides a trusted and transparent framework for supporting humanitarian activities. - Which organisations are involved?
The initiative is based on collaboration between:- The Vietsch Foundation.
- The GÉANT community.
- What are the roles of each organisation?
- The Vietsch Foundation is responsible for administering, managing, and overseeing all contributions. The Vietsch Foundation is a tax exempt recognised public benefit organisation (ANBI) according to Dutch law.
- The GÉANT community acts as the contributing community, enabling participation and supporting the initiative.
- How are contributions handled?
All contributions via the Vietsch Foundation (institutional or individual):- Are received and administered by the Vietsch Foundation.
- Are managed in accordance with the Foundation’s governance and financial procedures.
- Are audited yearly by a chartered accountant.
- URAN can at any time ask for money from the fund according to their needs. The Vietsch foundation will vet each request by URAN and then transfer the money, usually within 24 hours, to URAN.
- URAN makes a yearly report on how the money that was donated is spent.
- Who oversees the funds?
The Vietsch Foundation has a board of trustees that ensures:- Proper financial management.
- Compliance with applicable regulations.
- Transparent reporting on the use of funds.
- How is transparency ensured?
Transparency is achieved through:- Centralised administration by the Vietsch Foundation.
- Clear tracking and reporting of contributions.
- Established governance and oversight processes.
- Yearly audit by a chartered accountant.
- What is the overall benefit of this approach?
This model ensures that contributions from the GÉANT community are:- Managed securely and professionally.
- Aligned with humanitarian goals.
- Delivered through a trusted and accountable organisation.
