Leandro Plácido
Leandro is a Computer Engineering student at Universidade Lusófona – Porto University Centre, where he is developing a critical perspective on the role of technology in the real economy. Focusing on the digitalisation of business processes, Leandro is dedicated to exploring how software engineering can mitigate the "operational chaos" that often hinders Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
His research focuses on democratising access to commercial automation tools, advocating that the innovation driven by National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) must extend to the broader business fabric. Leandro's work proposes transitioning from error-prone manual processes, to intuitive, precise workflows that ensure data integrity and business profitability. He believes that inclusive digital transformation is the key to economic resilience, bridging the gap between high-performance infrastructure and everyday administrative efficiency.
