Cheryl Andrea Fernando

Cheryl is currently studying for a master’s in cybersecurity at Radboud University. She is interested in exploring ways to help safeguard the world against the exploitative nature of Artificial Intelligence (AI). While working at SURF, the Dutch NREN, Cheryl focused on the topic of AI bot mitigation. Here she researched solutions to help protect content from AI scraping bots that crawl the internet to fuel machine learning models.

Cheryl will be presenting a Lightning Talk at TNC26, which will take place in Helsinki, Finland, from 8 - 12 June 2026.
