Billy Holbrook

Billy is studying a bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking at Sheffield Hallam University. He is currently on an internship between his second and final year, working as a Network Engineer in the Network Operations team at GÉANT - the essential terabit network that interconnects all of Europe's NRENs. Here Billy is taking an active role in the company's BGP infrastructure.

A large part of Billy's work involves ensuring compliance to the MANRS routing security standards within the GÉANT research and education network, with a specific focus on BGP security. The slow adaptation of RPKI in production networks is of great interest to him, and is both the topic of his Lightning Talk, and his bachelor’s degree dissertation.
