Hidden Routes: The Invisible Impact of MANRS
We all want a more secure Internet, but what if our best security practices are silently breaking connectivity? As NRENs and providers implement MANRS, an unintended consequence is emerging - hidden routes that go unnoticed until they disrupt traffic and drive up costs. How can we fix this without compromising security?
Abdalla's talk highlighted the issues GÉANT faced in identifying and mitigating the effects of hidden routes. It demonstrated why and how other providers and NRENs should detect, analyse, and mitigate hidden routes within their own networks, helping them avoid the pitfalls GÉANT encountered.
Abdalla's participation in the Future Talent Programme 2025 was supported by GÉANT.
